A long time ago, I was scrolling through my Facebook timeline when I saw a status that someone had posted that caught my eye. It said 'H.O.P.E.' Most people read this as the word 'hope,' but if you actually look then you may notice that it isn't just a word, it's an acronym. I didn't know what it stood for though because the person only posted the acronym so I asked them what it meant. The word hope means having the desire for something to happen. The acronym H.O.P.E. (the one they gave me, and what I tell others) means 'Hold On, Pain Ends.' This spoke to me on a deeper level because I have suffered with depression for many years in my life so I know all about pain. Throughout my life, I struggled with having hope, but turning the word into an acronym gave me a new look on it. Whenever I am feeling down or going through a rough patch, I am reminded of H.O.P.E.. I have the acronym tattooed on my wrist as my daily reminder incase I am feeling too down in the dumps. The blog is named H.O.P.E. because I want other people to understand that they should never give up and to have hope. Depression is a difficult battle for anyone, but if they remember H.O.P.E then they may be able to hold on long enough for the darkness to pass. Life gets better even when it seems dark and gloomy. It also takes time to truly have and understand hope which is something that I am still learning myself, but thanks to my daughter, I am realizing that my depression can't hold me down forever. H.O.P.E
