The Gift of a Sister

It's Thursday again so that means another Featured People post!

I have met some amazing people during my lifetime, but there have been a few who have stood out the most. This person stands out because I consider her to be my big sister, and I have never had a big sister before since I am the oldest in my family. She came into my life because I started dating her youngest brother, and when I first met her at his graduation I didn't think she liked me all that much. I've heard all the stories about how older sisters never approve of the girlfriend because their younger brother is the baby of the family and no girl could ever be good enough. So imagine my surprise years later when I moved here to Columbia, and we started to become closer. Of course, I had hoped that she would grow to like me and approve of me dating her brother (what girlfriend doesn't want the family stamp of approval), but I didn't expect that I would love her as much as I do. When I need someone to talk to or some life advice, I know that she is ALWAYS there during any time of the day. She is the sunshine that peeks out when it's a cloudy day. She's a wonderful person with more confidence in herself than I have ever seen in anyone. She also knows how to make even the saddest person on their worse day have the brightest smile and mean that smile. Her sense of humor is wild and so funny. She helped me handle the loss of my job by coming to hang out with me which I definitely needed because sitting in the house all the time by myself was driving me insane. I absolutely adore her and love spending time with her so it kind of sucks that she has two jobs now, but at least she is making that money! She is the big sister that I have always wanted so she is pretty much stuck with me (because I'm the growing fungus haha). Her name is Ronnie, and I'm so so so glad to have her in my life. I love you big sis!
