Recently, I had an anniversary pass (the 27th) so this week I have decided it's finally time to talk about my boyfriend who I have mentioned a couple times in some of my blog posts. I am also thinking of changing Featured People to Monday or Tuesday, but I will let you know if that change occurs.
November 27, 2011 has a special place in my heart because it is the day that my boyfriend, Matthew, asked me to be his girlfriend. We became quick friends in high school starting around the time of my birthday that year, and I soon realized that he was someone I wanted to always talk. We talked about problems we may have been going through or just to pass the time, but it became an everyday thing. He was the best listener and was always making me smile. It's funny that we became so close because for a couple of weeks, we had only talked through text message. It wasn't until I brought up the fact that he never actually spoke to me while we were in school that we started talking in and out of school. Matthew actually asked me to be his girlfriend during Thanksgiving break while I was away in Virginia so coming back to school the following Monday to a boyfriend was very exciting. I will never forget how we even argued on which day it was that he asked me out because we had been on the phone the night of the 26th, but he didn't ask the question until after midnight. Our first couple of months were probably very sickening to people because we were in that honeymoon/puppy love phase.
Matthew has been there for me constantly throughout our six years of being together. He is more than just my boyfriend, but also my best friend. We have definitely been through a lot of ups and downs throughout the years, but the downs have never changed how much I love and adore him. I currently live with him, and I will be the first to admit that it is challenging mostly because of bills. I do love getting to wake up and go to sleep with him though. I love the adventures we have together when we just decide to go for a drive, the dates we go on, or just sitting at home together which usually consists of me writing or reading and him playing video games. Matthew is my favorite person in this world because he has seen every side of me both good and bad and hasn't gone running for his life. I don't have to hide when I'm with him. I truly appreciate him being in my life for so many years because I know I'm not the easiest person to deal with. So baby, this is my real anniversary post to you. I want you to know that I love you to the moon and back. I love your smile, your laugh, all your weird faces, your lame jokes, and your silly dance moves. I love being yours, and I couldn't ask for a better man to share my life with because you are truly the best. Here's to you my everything, my light, my heart, my babyboy. I love you, always. <3
