Best Friends Forever!

If you couldn't tell Thursday's are going to be dedicated to Featured People so this week will be all about my best friend. Apologies for the lateness.

Throughout my life, I have moved from Italy to Virginia, back to Italy, and then to South Carolina so keeping friends has always been a challenge. Making new friends was the easy part of moving. After I left a place, we would stay in touch for the first couple of months, maybe even the first year, but we tended to drift apart after some time passed. I wished that we didn't drift apart, but sometimes it is out of my control. Keeping in touch with a friend that has moved away is a two person job so if one person is making the effort, but the other person isn't then the friendship will fall into oblivion.

When I moved to South Carolina, I was very unhappy. It was not a place that I wanted to live, and definitely not the place I wanted to graduate from. Now in the present time though, I am glad to have moved there because I met my best friend named, Tia. She originally thought that I was weird because I was quiet. I thought she was wild and fun which is mostly still true. We got closer though as the year went on. She helped me through my first relationship at that school which led to my first break up. We told each other everything and still do, and made fun of people together at that school. The laughs I shared with Tia during our time at Whale Branch were definitely unforgettable especially during Tennis season, my Junior year, where we pretended to have British accents during practice. I would never want any other best friend besides her. I joke around with her all the time and we call each other ugly, but she knows she is my stunning gorilla (her nickname). I absolutely adore her, and wouldn't trade her for anything in the world. She is the second longest friend I have ever had. I know that no matter how far apart we may be, we would never lose touch with each other. I'm glad to call her my best friend.

Sorry for the lesser quality photo, I stole it from her SnapChat.

"True friends are never apart. Maybe in distance, but never in heart."
